Located in the heart of the historic East Sussex town of Rye, The Ship dates back to 1592. Originally built as a warehouse to store contraband seized from smugglers, it has certainly had a colourful past, which only adds to the pub’s charm.



Today you’ll find a quintessential English country inn bursting with character. From hearty breakfasts and Sunday roasts, to seafood platters and a wonderful selection of wines, The Ship is an idyllic spot for a family lunch or a catch up with friends this autumn
